Mae Carolyn Barnes was born August 27th 1953, to the late Franklin “RB” Barnes and Rosa Mae Barnes in Screven County, Georgia.
Carolyn was a Head Start teacher for many years as well as attended Swainsboro Technical College pursuing further education. Carolyn had a great love for educating children and had a passion to push education. Her biggest joy was teaching.
Carolyn was educated in and graduated from the Screven County School System.
At an early age Carolyn joined Black Creek Baptist Church, There she was known for her great voice.
Carolyn leaves to Cherish her memories: Three Sisters; Sharon (Marcus) Williams, Betty Wiggins, and Frankie (Fletcher) Robbins, all of Sylvania, Georgia; Two brothers: Willie Edward Barnes of Sylvania, Georgia, and Freddie Barnes of Savannah, Georgia; A Special loved Uncle Walter Henry Barnes SR.; Two Special Friends: Mrs. Eula Dean Sheppard, and Mr. Arthur Roberts of New York, Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
