Levi Holmes

Mr. Levi Holmes was born on March 28, 1953 in Screven County Georgia to the parentage of the late Willie Lovett Holmes and Maggie Robbins Wright.

Levi was a 1974 graduate of Screven County High School. He was employed with BASF Yarn Manufacturing Company for 28 years. He was the owner and operator of Holmes Towing Salvage Yard and Mechanic Shop. Levi also held many other career positions including employment at Enmark, Dollar General, and his current employment at COSENTINO.

In 1974 he met and wed Patricia Douse Holmes and to this union three children were born, David, Felicia and April.

Levi attended Thomas Chapel A.M.E. Church in Shawnee, GA where he faithfully served on the usher board and was the President of the Junior Choir.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Lovett Holmes and Maggie Robbins Wright, Step-father; Watson Wright, two sisters; Lenora Holmes and May Della Holmes, four brothers; Johnnie and Joseph Robbins, and Willie and Rickey Holmes.

On February 8, 2022 Levi entered into eternal rest with the Lord.

To know Levi, was to love him. He had a heart of gold that cared completely. He has a smile that brought joy beyond all measures. Besides spending time with his family and friends, Levi had a passion for cars and playing a game of pool.

Holmes of Pooler GA, and Felicia and April Holmes both of Rocky Ford, GA, eight sisters; Henrietta Robbins of Sylvania, GA, Victoria Morell of Bloomingdale, GA, Shirley Loman of Savannah, GA, Clara(Kenneth)Brooks of Stockbridge, GA, Martha Ann(Robert)Judkins of Pooler, GA, Brenda Glover of Hinesville, GA, Celestine Robbins of Rocky Ford, GA,  and Jessie Mae Holmes Dempsey of Sylvania, GA, three Brothers;  Stephen Holmes and Billy Joe Holmes both of Atlanta, GA, and Clifton Holmes of Waycross, GA; a loving mother in law Lela Mae Kennedy of Shawnee, GA, two grandsons; Trevon Turner and Christian Culbreth both of Atlanta, GA, three nephews that were considered as his sons, Walter June(Nina)Fulcher Jr. of Rincon, GA, Raymond Bubba Morell Jr. of Savannah, GA, and Jurony Gray of Virginia, a cousin that he considered his son; Michael Stroggins(Dee) of Guyton, GA, two “Bonus” daughters; Christy Howard of Rocky Ford, GA, and Monica (Jimmy) Roberson of Sylvania, GA, three aunts; Gladys Robbins of rocky Ford, GA, Louisiana Holmes of Sylvania, GA, and Luella Holmes of Pembroke, GA, best friends; Terry Tremble of Statesboro, GA, Ulysses (Alice) Lane of Portal, GA, and Stephen Lewis of Rincon, GA, sister in laws; Carla Holmes of Rocky Ford, GA, Elisa Davis of Rincon, GA, Ivory(Nathaniel)Pelote of Shawnee, GA, Willie Mae Adams of Pooler, GA, Sharon Brown of Clyo, GA, Mary(Robert)Woods of Guyton, GA, and Stephanie Woods of Atlanta, GA, brother in law; George Gray of Rincon, GA, Thomas Chapel A.M.E.
