Her Legacy

Pastor JoAnn Zeigler Odum was born on July 18, 1951, to the late James
Author Zeigler, Sr. and Lillian Scott Zeigler in Sylvania, Georgia. She transitioned
from this life, to eternal life on December 19, 2023 at East Georgia Regional

At an early age she was a member of Robbins Branch Baptist Church where she
enjoyed singing in the #2 choir with childhood friends and family members, she
would often say, “We had church back then.”
She was educated in the Screven County School System. She was a graduate of
Swainsboro Institute for nursing assistant and Seminary for Pastoral Leadership.
Her passion for helping people flourished when she met the Odum family in
Macon, Georgia, while visiting with her sister Carolyn Parker and accepting
Christ as her Savior.
In 1968, she was joined in holy matrimony to John David Odum and to this union
four daughters were conceived, Majella Andrea, Angela Diane, Geneva Vanessa
and Joanna. The family later moved to Florida form Georgia in 1972 and there
she began her Christian journey under the leadership of Bishop C. Brown where
she served as a Missionary for many years at St. John Holiness Church of God of
the Apostolic Doctrine. Upon her return to Georgia in 1979, she began having
Bible Study in her home and then home of those who desired to know Christ as
their personal Savior. During the Women’s Convention in the late 1980’s she was
ordained as an Evangelist. By answering the Master’s call, she would later become
the founder and Overseer of Faith Tabernacle Church of God of the Apostolic
Doctrine in Jesus Name of Sylvania, Georgia, giving her a permanent location to
share Christ with all those who desired to know him.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories; three daughters and three sons-in-
law, Majella (Jimmy) Robinson, Sylvania, Georgia, Geneva Wilkerson (Marquis),
