Gladys Mae Emory Robbins departed this life on Tuesday Morning May 9, 2023. She was born on September 22, 1936 to the parentage of the late Heamon Emory and Ola Mae Thorn Emory in Screven County.
Gladys attended Screven County school system until the third grade. Although she did not complete school then, she latter attend Ogeechee Technical College in Sylvania, Georgia for continued adult education.
Gladys was a member of St. John C.O.G.I.C. in Rocky Ford, Georgia, where she received her license to become a missionary, and she fellowshipped there for over 50+ years.
Gladys was joined in holy matrimony to Elder Lovelace T. Robbins in August of 1962. They spent 45 long and happy years together until his passing on July 8, 2007.
Gladys became a Bus driver for the Screven County School System in the late 90’s to early 2000’s, she started off as a substitute driver until she received a bus route of her own, and retired from the system after 7 long years.
Gladys was preceded in death by her Parents: Heamon and Ola Mae Emory, six brothers, two sisters: Mary Shoemake and Ora Lee Berrian, and a loving husband: Lovelace Theodore Robbins.
Gladys leaves to morn: her adopted daughter: Tiesha Holmes, and four adopted grand kids, Close Nieces and Nephews: Harry Lee (Louise) Emory, Willie Emory, Bobby Emory, Luther Shumake, Randy Shumake, Larry (Linda) Emory, Mary (Buck) Jones, Gloria Shumake, and Vincent Drummer, Mavis Powell and Joyce Drummer all of Vidalia, Georgia, and a host of other nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
