On the afternoon of August 17, 2023, the angel of silence came into the
home of Brother Eddie Fluellen and sealed the lips of a loving companion, a
father figure, a family member, and a true friend.
Eddie was born March 5, 1953, in Macon, GA, to the late Charlie and
Annie Mae Fluellen. He was the ninth child out of eleven children. He was
preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Annie Mae Fluellen; one
brother, Charlie Fluellen, Jr.; and four sisters, Annie Bell Frye, Frances
Fluellen, Sandra Elaine Johnkins, and Sylvia Clark.
He was not selfish, hence he felt that he needed someone to go by his side.
Upon meeting Barbara, his loving companion, in Hollywood, FL, he knew
she was the one, and as their love for each other grew, they relocated to
Georgia. She was not just his loving companion, she was “His Bae.” The
Lord blessed Eddie and Barbara to spend 40 beautiful loving years together
before his final resting day. He reared Tiffany and Nikki from a very young
age as his own daughters, and he will be loved and missed by them and
their children greatly. Eddie was employed with Briggs & Straton until his
health began to fail. Eddie joined St. John Missionary Baptist Church, and
whenever he was able to, he attended services with a joyous mind and a
loving heart.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his loving and loyal companion,
Ms. Barbara Lucas of Newington, GA; two daughters, Tiffany Arlecia Cox
and Nikki Marcelle Cox, both of Statesboro, GA; five adorable and loving
grandchildren, Asia Nicole Lonon, Darius Bryant, Jr., Daphany Nykia
Bryant, Tierra Nytasia Bryant, and Autumn Unique Bryant; two great-
grandchildren, Noah Perkins and Wyntir Cooper; two brothers, Dale
Fluellen and Charlie Spivey; three sisters, Nettie Mae Murray, Joyce Fyre,
and Gale Knight, all of Macon, GA; favorite brother-in-law, David Frye of
Macon, GA; best friend, Mr. Andrew Bartley of Clyo, GA; fifteen nieces and
nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Final rites have been entrusted to Cooper's Memorial Funeral Chapel in Sylvania, GA
